Something else in the discussion of directx vs opengl is that i have
done both and let me tell you - opengl is far simpler to get working
than directx.
DX has literaly pages and pages of stuff you have to do before you
even see something on the screen, and most of this complex
initialization code is filling wierd structures and datamembers to 0.
DX in typical MS fashion (sorry to bash MS API's) is full of strange
name structs with members that you have to read the docs to find out
they are unused, deprecated or are there to save place for features in
the future.
Very very complicated, and needlessly so as opengl has none of that garbage :P
