Tried that, but it doesn't make Windows' scripting subsystems safe, so 
there's only a slight improvement, AFAICT. :-/

That's what I've been doing the last few years, and indeed, it has 
worked great so far. Never seen a Linux virus, never had an 
application hijacked or anything like that.

However, I'm quite sure that won't last forever. I've noticed several 
Linux entries in current virus databases, and things are only going 
to get worse as Linux becomes more popular as a desktop OS. There is 
no such thing as a virus proof OS, and I think the primary reason why 
Linux has been virtually safe so far is simply that nothing out there 
worthy of being referred to as a virus is really trying to attack it.
