I've found that hijack this 
http://www.spychecker.com/program/hijackthis.html is a good last resort 
after running the usual checkers (adaware and spybot).  It lists out 
registry entries that could be used to launch spyware, and lets you flag 
and delete the ones you want.  Best used with some care, since god forbid 
you wipe out her google toolbar. :)
