[gameprogrammer] Re: Innovation and Creativity. Getting OT?

Maybe I can ask for a quick vote. I feel like I am busy fanning a flame war.
1) Can we leave this topic?
2) Can we get a consensus that war does not really generate innovation,
but in some cases, it brings people, money, and ideas together and
pushes research ahead much faster than at other times?
Or would this be better: As long as govenrments need to have huge
military budgets, some research will be led by these budgets which will
eventually be of some real benefit to everyone. The discoveries would
have been made in any case, just on a different schedule.
I am happy for anyone to email me directly to continue this topic (off
list). I would like to have a bit more time to read more snippets about
game programming.
