No your right on the money David, thanks for clearing that up for me, I
am getting tired of him asking for free engines, he claims to know, or
wants to learn, if so, then spend the money and get a tool, whether it
be, torque, 3d game studio, FPSC, 3Impact, 3D Rad, Dark Basic Pro, Game
Maker, Etc.. I own all of them, and it is pretty hard to learn them
without owning them. Also as for free engines and stuff, Reality Factory
is good for free and very similar to torque and 3d gamestudio, although
it uses a different script language called simkin, umm Revolution 3D is
great, you can use a DirectX 9 engine for free commercial or freeware,
and it includes the engine sourcecode and you can even program your game
in Visual Basic Dot Net, or C++ if desired or grab irrilicht, or ogre3d,
their are plenty of free ones, but if you are serious about helping on a
real project please like Dave said, spend a little money and learn the
engine first hand before asking to join someones team.

I know you're excited to join a project, but I imagine I'm not the
only one who is growing a little tired of hearing you ask for free
copies of game engines. I quote the wikipedia.org article on the
Torque Game Engine:
As of version 1.5, the Torque Indie License allows the engine to be
used by independent game developers for USD$150.00 per programmer,
provided the programmer is not employed by a company with an annual
revenue of greater than $250,000. The alternate commercial license is
available for $749 per seat. The licensing model is heralded by
low-budget teams as it saves them the time and effort of programming
their own game engine without requiring a large amount of money to
license (compare to the $350,000 for the Unreal Engine 2). [5]
So, no, he can't give you the engine for free - it would be illegal.
If you are interested in a real project, you sort of have to invest
real money into it. If you're just looking for some good times, that
can be perfectly free, but don't expect to be using the same
professional tools that companies spend thousands of dollars to acquire.
Perhaps I don't know of whence I speak - after all, I just the
"looking for some good times" kind of programmer... I have not, and
will never, spend a lick of money for development tools of any kind.
But, if I were in this for more than just a hobby, I would spend money
on it. If my information about the Torque engine is wrong, I
apologize, and would someone please clarify the actual issue.
Thanks
-Dave

better 3D Game Programming All in One or Torque for Teens. I need a
book that can teach me from the basics of Torque. I know most of C++
and am doing C. Can you give me the game engine for free.

Alright earlier didn't you say you were learning the Torque engine, and
were looking for books for it? I just found another one sent to me via
email last night called Torque for Teens.
Take a look at this, and if you would rather use the Torque engine
version 1.5.4 let me know, I have that too. Point being you still have
to be able to script / code in C/C++ either way. I have blitz3d, for
small simple games, it is a good system, for larger more complicated
projects you have to step up a little bit.
Hope this helps,

Dude i am 100% interested but the problem is that when i downloaded
Lite-C and i started with some of the tutorials that came with it and
i was not impressed by the engine. I don't know why but i doesn't
appeal to me. But if you feel this engine is really good and i
probably haven't understood it then please send me your tutorials. I
don't have th money right now to buy 3D Game Studio. So can you some
how send me a free version. I am making my own game with some of my
friends in Blitz3D. I need some help in making 3D models and I am
hoping you can help me out there. And can you make me terrain.
Thanks

I told you, I need mucho help dude... I can help you learn how to code
in Lite-C, if you would like I will send you a link to the AUM
Magazine
Page for Gamestudio A7, and you can snag editions 1-50 in Windows help
format, and 51-67 in the normal zipped format for you to peruse,
and try
the examples to learn Lite-C by testing and trial and error using the
examples laid out in the magazines. I also have a slew of
tutorials for
lite-C if you need them, and they would help you.
Let me understand again, didn't you say you owned 3D Gamestudio
a7? If
not, I can get you the A6-Commercial Edition to A7-Extra Edition
Upgrade
Key etc. for only $45.00 a great bargain considering it cost me
$59.00,
and I think you don't even need A6 to use it, you can just
download A7
Demo, run the key, and point it to Gstudio7 folder, and it will
turn it
into a full blown A7 Extra Edition, which is good enough to make games
with and learn with since, the only thing missing is the multiplayer
stuff, the extra edition includes all the physics stuff and even the
shader stuff etc.. So this version would be great for you to help
on our
games with, and even for your own games also. I will even help you on
any game you might want to make as well, if you help me, we can do
this
together to create some great games, learn some stuff, help each other
out, and make some money together too.
Hit me back if your interested, please, ASAP.
