[gameprogrammer] Re: Good questions

Well to be completely honest, most people don't follow their own advice. Unfortunately, the best advice is the advice you give away :)
I don't even think that being a hypocrite is that big a crime, doctors are by and large the most qualified people to give us advice on the way we treat our bodies. Just because they may be 130 kg's doesn't mean they can't tell us to stop putting half a shaker of salt on our steak :)
They are only human, and when any human has put a lot of effort into their qualifications they tend to get a bit defensive when contradicted - most of the time this serves them well, but in the odd case their defensiveness is borne not on qualifications but on arrogance.
I suppose the point is that we should trust our doctors (not just one - they are only human) and ignore their arrogance when it happens because most of the time they are right :)

I am dismayed when I hear people talk about doctors like this, its one step away from alternative medicine and trying to cure cancer with magnets.

I can't count the number of health professionals I have seen that smoke. You know they see sick people all the time. You would think they would follow some of their own advice. Glad you're ok Bob.
