actually, by reading the previous "one game per month" discussion, I
silently made a late new years eve promise to produce a complete game per
month 2007 :)
It really makes me think about "how much time should I spend on this feature
/ subsystem / art /etc.?" instead of going on forever, "perfecting"
everything. the word "complete" is crucial - I have to scale the game down
if I feel I can't manage to finish it in a month..
other classics include: tetris, snake, asokoban, missile attack, asteroids,
...

The old BASIC games books have lots of little games ideas, such as
lunar lander, shoot the ducks, horse race, bomb your nieghbor,
puzzles, merchant of venus, etc.
