Hey Jake,
That's a little harsh! He's only 17 and I am sure he's far too eager

(Does he really need an upper case H in "Here" following a comma?)
haha that was a mistake - it was meant to be a full stop :)
I am more of a punctuation vigilante than anyone else I know and if this
was work related I would have pounced like a salmon. Sometimes you
just have to let it slide.
I didn't mean the post to come across like a reprimand - its a honest
piece of advice. Even in a casual setting, one should attempt to avoid
ambiguity, and punctuation can really help. It is hard to read a
wall-of-text, and in a lot of other places he would get shot down
immediately.
Basically, I just want to be able to read things without having to
decipher and guess.... I don't expect university level English on the
internet (and if I did, I'd end up poking my eyes out), but if one is
asking for help, one should endeavour to make things easy for the people
one is asking.
However, if you really want to get your grammatical juices flowing
take a look on Amazon for a copy of "Eats, Shoots & Leaves" by Lynne
Truss who, in her book, confesses to standing outside the cinema at
the release of the film "Two Weeks Notice" with an apostrophe on a
stick. Her zero-tolerance approach to punctuation makes for an
excellent read.
Well maybe I should read that book :D It sounds awesome :)
