[gameprogrammer] Re: Are AO games bad for CVs?

In my personal opinion I would tell you to not take the offer. I say this on
more of the moral side than anything. Have you thought about the affect you
will have on others through your game? I mean look at GTA their point of view
and game design is very talented however, on the moral side a very negative
game. The effects of material in games really affects those who play it. I am
not one of those people who scream all video games should be destroyed but I
feel that game developers have a responsibility that they entertain with moral
values. I just wanted to give a different point of view that you might should
think twice about taking the offer. Sexually explicit material has very
negative effects that can even ruin peoples lives and I wouldn't want to make
any contribution on creating the medium that poisons people. Just my
perception and wanted to give you something to think about.

                Hi,

An adult site, SM stuff, offered me some really nice money for a simple game,
not bloddy, and I?m considering to make it. Since this would be the first game
with my name on it and since I?m really serious about getting into game
business I would like to ask the professionals here: Should I accept the offer?
It?s not about money, since I have a nicely well paid part time job. But
that?s something I could in my free time, quickly, nice payment, nice number of
users and it?s not agains my religion (hehe). I WON?T do it just for the money,
I would do it ONLY if I can use it on my CV.
What do you think? A nice game studio would reject my CV if I put a game like
this into my application?

  Thanks,
  Dirso
