Yeah sometimes I find 3rd-party libraries that only provide VS style
X.lib files, but usually I can use the 'reimp' tool (available in
mingw-tools and via cygwin) to convert them to libX.a files compatible
with gcc. I did that on DirectX before I found a pre-converted version.

It's great being able to use the same tool/interface for both
languages. Unfortunately for a lot of third party engines out there
you have to use VS 2003, so I have that installed as well. I much
prefer Eclipse for both langages though.
