I also use blender and think it's worth the time to learn at least the basics.
It has a python module so you can make your own exporter pretty quickly and 
once you get a little knowledge of the interface, you can produce content 
pretty rapidly.
Here's a short list of controls that helped me get started:

Tab key - switches between edit and object mode (most of the time)
Space - Opens a context sensitive option menu
B key - Box select, drag a box around the vertexes you want to select, use 
right click to deselect
E key - Extrude a vertex or group of vertexes / edges / faces
K key - Knife tool for splitting faces and edges
S key - Scale, as with most functions you can press x,y, or z to lock to an axis
G key - Grab, pressing x, y, or z locks movement to that axis
R key - Rotate, x,y,z for axis locking
A key - Toggles select all / select none
CTRL-Z - Undo
CTRL-D - Duplicate selected
M key - Merge selected vertexes
