yikes!

..and you're going to teach 3D game programming in 18 hours? hey, if you
can pull that off then i want to take your course!!! :D

personally, i've been taking the Torque route these days since it seems
silly to reinvent the wheel, aside from academic reasons. i just plain don't
have the time to create an engine from the ground up, as much as i would
like to learn how to do that.

let us know how it goes! if you can post your syllabus when you've got it
hammered down i'd like to see it!
