Nevertheless there was a thread problem with b15pv17 that was solved
in b15pv18. I confirm it has been fixed.
What I think was happening here is the difference between the
underlying thread models at the OS level thus causing the code to
be executed at unexpected times. So in preview 18 I made the
checking for the signal to kill the thread more robust and made
sure each thread is expediently released when it should be
released.
