[fsug-calicut] Ubuntu loading and unloading screen invisible

Hello all.
Few days ago I thought to try Ubuntu Jaunty and installed it. But I couldnt
see the Ubuntu loading bar during the startup, even thought it shows the
desktop in less than a minute. Also when I shutdown, Im not able to see the
ubuntu unloading screen.
What might be wrong? Any suggestions?
