[fsug-calicut] Ubuntu 9.04 live : no display

Hello all.
My friend has a Pentium 4 PC, 1GB RAM machine. But ubuntu 9.04 doesnt show
the desktop when on live mode. But it is working in command line. also gnome
is loading. i can hear the startup sounds. any clue? please help
