Hi all,

One of the great things about fruityloops is that it is so flexible you
can use functions/features to do all sorts of cool things they weren't
originally intended to do.

I thought it would be good fun and informative to have a thread where
people join in and share ways that they have used and abused
functions/features/plugins in the past and to try and come up with some
new ones together.

Some of my favourites:

- use the granulizer as a normal sampler if I don't want the sample to
play from the beginning. It has a control (that the normal sampler
lacks) that lets you decide where you want sample playback to start
from. You can even use this as a beat slicer of sorts: load a drum loop
into the granulizer and automate the start position to play the
different drums in the loop... cool!

- you can get some cool 50s laser/sci-fi effects out of the fruity kick,
especially with a bit of gating with the peak controller on the output.

- use the fruity mute and fruity send in combination to apply different
effects to the L and R channels of a single generator. You can use this
to get the swirling Jarre strings effect (I have an flp of this
somewhere if anyone is interested).

I'm still working on these ones:

- using the peak controller to do gated reverb on drums

- use the formula generator to do automated log fadeouts: just set the
start and end points...

have fun,

Andy
