i) set the synth to use its own FX/mixer channel
ii) select that mixer channel
iii) click the "rec" disk icon in the bottom right of the mixer window
iv) select a file name and click OK
v) click record and play
vi) create an audio clip and load up the audio file you just recorded

There is an automated way to do this (so that the recorded file goes
straight to an audio clip, but I can't remember how to do it). Can anyone
shed any light on this?

thanks,

Andy
