A two hour Meeting starting at 2PM sharp, Central Time.

The 1st hour we will present the FREE GEEK MICHIANA Project,
And how it can help kickstart a CTC like a fine-tuned Harley-Davidson
The 2nd hour will involve more detailed discussion of the CTC
First things first:
**** 15 - 20 minute discussion ****
What is best for the community?
Target audience: Who do we want can/should/could serve?
- At risk kids
- Middle age people who missed out on computer education
- Geeks, and potential geeks!
- Low income/cannot afford a computer/internet
- Young People looking for work Resume ~ Job Skills
- What high school age students are we going to attract?
Everyones favorite social outcasts' the nerds and geeks!
Finally a place where it will be cool to be smart!
Why offer something they already have? Michigan City has one of the best
technology programs in the state. That said they still are not offering a
complete program. Instead of competing with them we can augment their
program by gluing together all the pieces of the IT world they leave out.

Background on FREE GEEK project.
- The importance of having a working theory
- Portland inspiration
- Won 7 grants
Message from Oso Martin Director of FREE GEEK PORTLAND:
"On the subject of grants - I'm totally open to helping ya'll out -
reviewing, etc. I'm still pretty new at the grant thing but I'm up to
$120,000 raised through 7 separate grants ($41,070 largest, $4,500
smallest) so I must be doing something correctly. Let me know how I can
help."

Different variety of programs that FREE GEEK offers
- Computer literacy is computer literacy
- What IT demands, is not always what schools teach
- SQL/PHP Class
- Command Line Class

FREE GEEK MICHIANA project
- The Salvation Army Lab
- Our different logistics than Portland
- the FreeBox/FreeLab/FreeLan/ method
- The Pilot is over bring on FreeLan number 1.
- FGM is providing the program MLK is providing the facility
(likewise at the Sal Army)
"This is our program, this is your program this Lans' the Lan for you and me!"
Eventually a roving FGM Free Lan liaison/Sys Admin will help support the
independence of the MLK CTC and it's Free Lan provided by FREE GEEK
MICHIANA.

90 days phase one
- Setup Receiving Area
- Discuss importance of public access lab,
and why it should be seperated from receiving
- education lab in receiving area?
- 3 months to high bandwidth - immediate allocation of $45 dollars for 3
months of dial-up service from adsnet, I already have the account setup,
it's waiting to be turned on. (Perhaps the United Way can influence Adsnet
to donate this?)
