Well, I tried autopkg on Vector. It will download and install debian packages
automatically... Only one problem, it will not solve dependencies. So I need to
figure out the dependencies for kernel headers. (I am hoping to get it working
this week) Any point on how to accomplish that would be appreciated.
Thanks,

Here's what I know about VL package managers. There is no such thing as
dependency checking with Slack/VL pkg managers. So one of the key advantages of
apt-get is not available.
1. pkgtool - Integrated into vasm. The pkg must already exist on the local
system on a mounted drive, no ftp capability.
2. pkgtool2 - Same as above but adds functions such as converting rpms and debs
to tgz format.
3. Midnight Commander - Norton Commander like file manager. <F2> key launches
the built-in pkg manager. Combines aspects of pkgtool and pkgtool2.
4. vec-get / autopkg - Purports to function similarly to apt-get. I've never
used autopkg. Add ftp sources to /etc/autopkg.conf.
