Makes sense to me. Having the most common installation methods available allows us greater flexibility and ability in meeting our goals. Maybe at some point we can do both if we really need to start cranking out larger volumes of freeboxes." That's a main issue at hand, and one I had stated numerous times. While it maybe quicker to use Virtualbox and Clonezilla, it does take away something from the learning aspect. Part of that is also if I had to learn how to do it by disc-based install, then so should everyone else, lol, and you slave driving (just kidding) people mean to tell me there was an easier and faster way to install, and we didn't use it? LOL. Not sure how well that would have worked with VL 5.9, but who knows. Also, by learning how to do a disc-based install, it teaches people how to setup in the future, in case they obtain a copy and wish to install it onto another computer. As slow as it is, I think disc based media is still going to be around for awhile as a means of installing software, unless the major corporations and companies decide to start using USB drives or SD cards. Again, I would say that we use both methods (disc-based and PXE/Virtualbox/Clonezilla) as necessary-disc based on slow nights, VB/CZ on nights when we are going to need more computers and may not have the warehouse open the next Thursday due to a holiday, for example. Even if in the future we decide to use VB/CZ as the primary method, it would still be good to know how to use the disc based method, just in case something proves to be too much of a pain to use VB/CZ. We might run into gpg key issues, though. I don't really know how they are used with the repositories. > Tony Sounds like something to try, I hadn't thought about gpg. We would have to set up a local dns though. <flw> What's the worse that could happen.... </flw> Mike ** This list is PUBLICLY archived. ** PLEASE don't post personal or sensitive information unless you wish for it to be in the public domain.
