Lab agenda, 3/2/04
----------------------------
. Replicate NV2800 conversion
. Edit draft conversion howto
. Finalize design for workbenches
. Write workbench list of materials (shopping list)
. Sort the Upper Room to prep for demanufacturing
. Call prospects for next FreeBox class
I lined up six students for a FreeBox class this past Saturday. Only two
showed up so I cancelled the class. I will schedule another class next Sat.
after the MLUG meeting and recruit prospects during the week.
Jay and I met with Teresa Buwa, Network Admin at Center for the Homeless,
last Friday. She is going to send us computers which are donated to the
Center but which they cannot use. Some are cannibalized scrap, some not.
Teresa is interested in volunteering with FGM.
Mike, please subscribe Teresa to the FGM mailing list: Teresa Buwa
<tbuwa@xxxxxxx>.
One of the FreeBox prospects, Bobbi Robinson, wants to volunteer at FGM.
Bobbi is one of the two people who showed up Sat. She may come to lab
Tuesday. Bobbi has unused counter tops in her garage which she is willing
to donate to outfit the Upper Room for demanufacturing. Some pieces are
large enough for workbench tops, and others are good for shelving. Bobbi
also has a table saw and some other woodworking equipment. She lives in
Mishawaka, not too far from the lab. Bobbi loves to organize work space and
immediately wanted to help outfit the Upper Room.
Jody Montgomery told me the church is considering moving the computer lab
into a larger room, the storage room by the pop machine. The room is used
just to store toys, which could be done in the current computer room
instead. We will have 50%-100% more room. Don't know when the switch would
occur.
