I spoke to Scott Spieker on phone this morning. I told him we want
$40/untested, $50/tested and $100/preconfigured and tested -- all units are
as-is, no warranty of any kind, no returns.
Scott is leaning toward raw Netvistas. He has forty (40) D-Link DFE-530TX
NICs ready to install. He seems willing to put his own time into obtaining
and burning the compact flash cards and installing the NICs -- our howto
apparently builds confidence.
Scott can arrange for commercial transport if we properly box the units and
put them on pallets. There lays the rub. We need a local company to donate
space and materials to palletize the Netvistas and keep them around until a
truck arrives to haul them away. If we have to pay for the service, the
unit prices need to reflect our additional costs. If we can't find a donor
or a service, we'll have to deliver the Netvistas ourselves to Cleveland
(Mentor, OH).
We also need to do a complete inventory so I can tell Scott what we have to
sell.

Can someone find a low cost supplier for 2-4MB compact flash cards? We'll
may also need a gaggle of 10/100 NICs, such as rtl8139 or another
inexpensive chipset. I believe D-Link 530 series NICs are selling for
about $5.00, new in quantity.
I'm putting together the proposal to sell the Netvistas since that is the
consensus.

They look like they are going for $20 - 30 on eBay. I'd charge $40 - 50
tested, as-is; or $80 - 100 pre-configured w/ cf and 10/100 ethernet nic.
New machines with similar specs are going for $200 - 300.
