[frgeek-michiana] Re: DSL in lab

I just got SBC dsl at home, and it was fairly easy to setup with ipcop.
I had to borrow a windows laptop to register with the service using
their software, but after I got my username and password you can
connect with pppoe. The routers they give out are pretty decent,
but I just wonder if they try to limit how many computers you can hook
up to it. SBC told me I could only connect 9 computers to the router,
and then I thought to myself, hmm now does that include thin clients?

I just wonder if it would be worthwhile for yall to setup an ipcop (or
clarkconnect/smoothwall/sme etc) in the lab somewhere, to stand between
the dsl router and the sallie network, and isolate the ltsp server in
it's own network? At ipcops.org their are mods for dansguardian and
squid and other neat things that might be useful for the lab.
