We are glad to introduce a new freeware program: 'Freebyte Zip'.
Freebyte Zip is a powerful freeware zip/unzip program with full Windows
user-interface and command-line functions. You can zip and unzip files,
create zip archives, view and sort zip file contents, and also make
self.extracting archives. This program is the direct successor to the
reliable HJ-Zip program. Freebyte ZIP is suitable for Windows 95, 98,
ME, 2000 and NT. The program is only 300 Kb in size, and does not
require any installation.
New features in Freebyte ZIP version 2.1 beta, as compared to the latest
HJ-Zip version:
* Added: option to view or execute files directly from inside the zip
archive
* Added: file attributes and file dates are preserved during zip/unzip
operations
* Added: self-extracting archives now support long file names
* Added: the ability to add and remove files directly to/from
self-extracting archives
* Added: option to extract files with or without path information
* Added: option to add files with or without path information
* Added: option to add files found in contained sub-directories or not
to add files in sub-directories
* Added: option to specify the compression level when adding files
* Added: many shortcut keyboard commands for frequently used functions
* Added: many new command-line switches and functions (please see the
readme.txt file)
* Added: progressbar display during file extraction and compression
* Added: the compression and extraction process can be aborted
* Added: compression and extraction settings are saved between sessions
* Added: compression and extraction folders are saved between sessions
* Added: statusbar display of total size of zip-file in Kbytes

TreePad PLUS has been updated to version 4.0.5
* Added: option to set the font of the search input boxes in the tree
and article search windows, as well as the article search/replace
window.
Improved: after deleting a node or subtree, the nearest sibling of the
deleted node becomes selected; if no sibling is available the parent of
the deleted node will become selected.
* Bugfix: setting the tree background color will not generate an error
message anymore or lock up the program. This problem was related to
certain versions of the standard Windows tree control, which is no
longer used since version 4.0.4.
* Several problems related to the tree have been fixed due to the new
tree control.
* Improved: overall speed of many tree-related operations, like loading
data, unloading data, starting and closing the program with large
amounts of data.
* The speed of the hyperlink 'select tree node' screen has been
dramatically improved in case of a large data structures.

been updated
* Added: TeeChart office is a powerful free charting, plotting tool with
hundreds of charting styles and multiple configuration parameters.
Includes importing data and exporting charts to several formats (JPEG,
PNG, GIF...). Versions available for Linux and Windows. Freeware, open
source, GPL.
* Added: Cool Timer Freeware desktop timer. Supports timer intervals for
up to 10 hours. Plays Wav or MP3 files as alarm. Displays in 'regular
size' or 'really big' mode; colorful user interface.
* Added: World Time Free world clock program. Displays the time of any
time zone around the world. Synchronizes itself with atomic clocks using
your Internet connection.
* Added: DomiNOTE Free text editor for Windows. Features: keyword
highlighting, 256 Levels of undo/redo, drag and drop text editing,
unlimited file size, open and edit multiple documents, stay on top, etc.
* Added: German language free online organizer: route planner, address,
calendar and email management, WAP, reminders through SMS and email.
