You can now tag individual tree nodes with different icons. Added: 'icons' tab, next to the article tab, containing the optional tree icons. To assign an icon to the currently selected node, simply double-click on an icon inside the icon area. To assign the default icon to the current node again, just click on the first icon. Many thanks to Philip Sutton for providing many of the icons inside the icons tab. Added: a new menu to show/hide the icons area: menu/view/icons. Added: a new icons menu (menu/icons) to manage (import/remove) icons. This menu will only show when the icons area is visible. It contains these sub menus: * menu/icons/add new icons; this enables one to import one or more icons at the same time into the icons area (or the 'insert' key on the keyboard when the icons area has focus). * menu/icons/remove selected icons; with this menu one can remove the selected icons from the icons area (or the 'delete' key on the keyboard when the icons area has focus). New manual The TreePad PLUS manual has been greatly improved. Many thanks to Barry Andrews for creating this new high-quality manual. Tree navigation Added: pressing the explode tool-button while holding the keyboard shift key will expand only one level of the selected subtree (pressing explode button without the shift key will expand all levels). Tree editing Changed: name of menu/tree/insert/child node to menu/tree/insert/child node at bottom. Added: menu/tree/insert/chid node at top (only visible in advanced mode). This also has been added to the tree context menu. File import and export Added: when exporting a subtree to TreePad PLUS file, all article images contained in this subtree are also exported to that file. Added: when importing a TreePad PLUS file, all user-defined node-icons are imported. Printing Improved: the printing quality of vector/metafile images has improved. Hyperlinks Improved: support for https hyperlinks. Previously, https hyperlinks could only be inserted when selecting the type 'user defined' in the 'Insert Hyperlink' dialog. Now you can also use the link type 'WWW'. New features in TreePad PLUS 4.7 Tree node formatting and properties · Added: the format toolbar and format menu now can change the formatting of the selected tree node. Note that for applying the format toolbar or menu to the tree the tree needs to have focus. When the article has focus, the formatting toolbar applies to the selected block text inside the article. This means that you can now use the format toolbar to set individual node properties directly, like 'bold', 'italic', 'underline', 'strikethrough', 'font name', 'font size', 'color', 'background color'. · Added: one can now also set the background color of each individual node, using the formatting toolbar. · Added: a shortcut for node properties, ctrl+F2. · Improved: the node properties dialog has been improved to include the new options. It now also displays the article data type and ID. · Added: a new 'Tools' tab to the properties dialog, currently containing one new function which allows you to remove the formatting of all subtree node titles in one go. Useful when you want to remove all formatting (color, style, size, font name, etc.) from a group of node captions. This makes the nodes in the selected subtree take over with the default tree font setting. Search · Improved: the article search and replace function is now much faster. Also: article scrolling during search-replace (with confirm) has been improved. · Added: separate tree search and article search buttons in the view toolbar. · Added: copy, paste and clear buttons to the tree and article search screens. TreePad Shutdown options · Added: the option to (1) automatically clear the TreePad Clipboard (for nodes/subtrees) when the program closes, (2) or to ask whether or not to clear the TP clipboard, (3) or not to ask anything about the TP clipboard while not clearing the TP clipboard when the program closes. In the options screen (menu/view/options) choose the category 'TreePad/Shutdown'. More information on the TreePad Clipboard for nodes/subtrees can be found here: Copying, cutting and pasting nodes and subtrees Auto backup · Added: the option to automatically create backup files of the TreePad data files. In the options screen (menu/view/options) choose the category 'backup'. The TreePad data file (.hjt) is backed up to a .hjt.bak file in the same directory as the TreePad data file, TreePad image files (.tpz) files are backed up to .tpz.bak in the same directory. Auto-backup is recommended when your data file is located on a hard disk. When you have your TreePad data file on a floppy, you might not have enough space for the auto-backup. In that case you rely on the periodical usage of the built-in manual backup function using menu/file/backup. Images · Added: support for PNG images. PNG images can now be imported (menu/insert/image from file) into TreePad and exported from TreePad (menu/file/export/selected image). · Added: support for Windows metafiles. WMF and EMF files can now be copied, pasted, imported and exported. · Improved: when importing an image of type JPEG, GIF, PNG, EMF, WMF, ICO, BMP, it is stored in its native format inside the TreePad database. Previous versions of TreePad converted pixel images internally to bitmaps. · Added: conversions between all the supported image formats. This means that you can export an image stored into TreePad to any other supported image type, except to an icon. For instance, a PNG image can be exported to a JPEG image, a WMF image to a GIF or BMP. Icons can be exported to the other formats, but the other formats can not be exported to icon (.ico) files. · Added: when clicking on an image, the statusbar will display the internal image name and image type. · Improved: smaller images will now be inserted into the article (menu/insert/image from file) and pasted (menu/edit/paste) in the correct size. Export and images · Added: the export subtree to Web site option now includes images! Please note that: bmp files are exported to Web site as JPEG files, ico, wmf and emf files are exported as GIF files. You can access this feature using Menu/file/export · Added: export of an article to a HTML file now includes exporting the images. Images are exported to the same directory as the HTML file. · Added: export of an article to an RTF file now includes exporting the images. The images are not stored inside the RTF file, but exported separately into the same directory as the RTF file and linked from the RTF file. Programs like MS Word are able to load the RTF file and display the external images. Using MS Word, when you save the RTF file as Word file, the images will become embedded inside the Word document. Format · Added: menu/format/convert/to title case, which will convert the selected block of article text to lowercase, except for the first letter of each word (which is converted to a capital). · Added: menu/format/convert/to sentence case, which will convert the selected block of article text to lowercase, except for the first letter of each sentence (which is converted to a capital). · Added: menu/format/remove/spaces, which will remove any leading spaces from the selected block of text. As an extra, this function also removes '>' characters when found at the beginning of the line. This is useful when processing emails. · Added: menu/format/remove/spaces and returns, which does the same as the above function (remove/spaces), additionally it removes the returns from the selected block of text. Please note that these 'Format' commands are also available through the article popup menu. File · Added: shortcut ctrl-F4 to close the current file.
