Hi Al:I don't know anything about the pen, but I did spend a happy part of my undergraduate career at Warwick University, just outside Coventry, which was at the time the home of Roots Automotive (makers of Jags?). Of course, the U of W was founded only in the mid-60s and might not have been around at the time of your pen. I cannot recall the name of another "college" in the Coventry area. Also, it was Coventry Cathedral that was destroyed during WWII bombing and has now become a monument to European peace.

Got an interesting old pen (fairly cheaply) on E-Bay, last week. It's blue and black marbled, probably casein. Labled "The College Pen" The College Bookshop 56, Butts, Coventry Perpendicular to this is "Made in England" Any of our English friends have any idea who made pens for this shop? Came in a "Platignum" box but I doubt it's a Platignum. Has a warranted gold nib and the Platignums I've seen with gold nibs had screw in sections. This is the ordinary press fit.
