Pen World Part Deux

Just as I finished writing my previous post the new issue came today; the
larger format is different and OK I can deal with it (its no different from
Cigar Aficionado being of a different format) but the editorial leaning is as
all have noted, quite away from vintage and moving towards the luxury end of
the hobby.
For me this a paradigm shift that places Pen World in the same category as
the Robb Report or Dupont Registry; dealing with products and services the
average middle class pen collector can ill afford.
At the "re-up" I will let the subscription lapse or I may give it one more
year; maybe the publishers and editors will listen to the broader constituency
and revert to the old focus. I think Stylus will probably surpass PW as the
collectors' magazine of choice, at least IMHO.
While change is good, drastic shifts are not..and this is a drastic shift.
