PICS: Unusual vintage Sheaffer Balance construction

Not terribly UNCOMMON, Daniel, alas, not so TERRIBLY easy to find.
I have the same as D. in a carmine stripped p&p set. And is the only one among my balances with these "butt" and "head" finishes. Moretheless; I found I had it yesterday after reading D's post, when I decided to checkout the ends of all my balances.

Have several transitional, white-feeders, dial-ups, over-oversized, but not these hat-and-shoe specials, only the carmine I'm telling about. BTW, Dave, you, lucky fella that can start the 2008 Pen Show agenda in Philly !!!!!
Would be great to meet you all... someday ;-)

All the best, Nicholas

P.S.- I'm still waiting for my wish-listed grey pearl red veined balance (not greenish faded by the rubber sac) in standard and oversize models, (I alraady have the small and the demi) ;-) Would any have one of these, or see one of the two anywhere, and don't ask half of the treasury that Odyssey recovered from the Spaniard vessel in Spaniard continental bluewaters, I will consider to buy it. ;-)

And as flames climbed high into the night
To light the sacrificial rite
I saw Satan laughing with delight
The day that Sheaffer died.
