His Nibs.com update -- Monteverde MEGA LE2

His Nibs.com update --
Monteverde MEGA LE2
February 24th, 2007

The 2nd limited edition version of the
Monteverde Mega Ink*Ball pen has now
arrived...in black and "Corsa Rosa" red!
Everyone who pre-ordered has now been shipped
their pen, and we still have a few in stock.

The price of all Delta pens is increasing on
March 1st -- approximately 10% -- so learn
how to order at our already discounted price
-- below.

Since our last email update, the 'F' and 'M'
nib versions of the Pilot 78G pens came in
(we're still trying to get more of the 'B'
and possibly the 'BB' nibs). I hesitate to
even mention them, as once again these
hard-to-acquire pens where mostly pre-sold
from our long waiting-list. We still have a
few left.

Also back-in-stock is the '2018'
Multifunction pen.

The Monteverde brand was launched in 1999
with one model. Today, the brand is known and
respected by aficionados all over the world!
Monteverde is proud to present their second
Limited Edition pen. The color of the Mega
Red Limited Edition Ink?Ball writing system
is inspired by the "Corsa Rosa" color of
Italian, red exotic race cars.

The Monteverde design team has also added an
extra black pen barrel so that the Mega Red
can be enjoyed three different ways: as a red
and black pen; as an all red pen; and as an
all black custom pen when assembled with
components from the Limited Edition Mega Yellow.

Delta

YAFA, Delta's importer into the U.S., has
announced that all of the Delta prices will
go up on March 1st. As many of you know, I
don't stock in-house the large Delta line,
but am an authorized dealer and can order
everything for you directly. I offer Delta
pens at a substantial discount off of the
list price (follow the link below for more
details on pricing and a further link to all
of the Delta models). Also, for a $5.00 fee
-- in addition to whatever the actual
shipping costs are -- I can arrange for YAFA
to ship your Delta pens directly to you if
you'd prefer, which would save the transit
time for the pen to come to me, and for me to
then ship again to you.

So, if you are interested in any of the
gorgeous pens from the Delta line, and want
to order them before the price increase on
Thursday, just let me know at orders@xxxxxxxxxxxx

The other Delta announcement is that the
recently introduced 'We' line of pens --
pictured above -- will shortly be re-named
'Lucky', to reflect the lucky peppercorn
secreted within each pen's clip. You can go
to my 'We' page from the Delta page linked
below, and see a short video on the clip.

Pilot 78G

It seems that I'm never able to obtain enough
of these terrific Pilot pens at one time to
satisfy everyone...but I do have a few left
after shipping out to everyone on the latest
waiting list.

I still have my buyers in China searching for
more of the 'B' nibs of these NOS (new, old
stock) Japanese pens!

'2018' Multifunction pen

An old favorite returns...

The usual multifunction pen from Asia has a
fountain pen on one end, and a ballpoint on
the other. Here's a truly unique variation on
that theme. This pen has a liquid-ink
rollerball on one end, and a Chinese
calligraphy 'brush' on the other!

We long ago had to accept the rise of the
ballpoint as the dominant writing instrument
(thankfully a lot of old desk drawers still
had vintage fountain pens hidden in them!),
but now it seems that the wristwatch will
soon be joining the ranks of the
'collectible'...right next to our
grandparent's Parker Vacumatics and
pocketwatches.

"Allison Elliott occasionally wears the
delicate gold windup watch that belonged to
her grandmother. But it's really just for show.

Elliott, who's 27, is much more likely to get
the time from the clock in her car, the one
on her cable TV box or cell phone or from the
bottom right-hand of her computer at the
University of Kentucky, where she works.

Paul Dryden is much the same. "To be honest,
I can't remember the last time I wore a watch
- I'm guessing early in high school," says
the 21-year-old senior at Connecticut
College. The busy student's cell phone often
doubles as an alarm clock because "it goes
everywhere I go."

In other words, the way we track time is
changing with the times."
