His Nibs.com update -- Lucky David in Sedona July 22nd, 2007 It's been almost a month since our last update, so there's lots of new additions to the website (too many to summarize in the title, so I've combined three of them into 'Lucky David in Sedona). You can also view the new 'What's New' video on the homepage, which will cover much of the same ground as this update. After a year's hiatus, we'll be attending the D.C. Supershow http://www.pencentral.com/ in August... and hope to see many old -- and new -- friends there. To commemorate the event, Private Reserve has added Electric DC Blue to their DC Supershow Blue and Supershow Green inks. They've also created fast-drying versions of Sherwood Green and Midnight Blues, joining Ultra Black (all three in larger, 2 oz. bottles). Although Private Reserve was forced to raise their prices to $8.40 from $7.60 for the regular-sized bottles (after holding steady for 7 years!), I've just accepted a large order and will be maintaining my $7.00 price for the immediate future. Monteverde has added a breathtaking new addition to the Artista line of pens...the Artista Deluxe Sedona. They've also given new life to the venerable Invincia line, with the introduction of a new, larger nib for the pen. I think you'll agree that it adds to the balance of this oversized pen. The Delta WE 'Lucky' pen has expanded its line by adding a 'Dolcevita' version...Delta's classic yellow resin. I have a few of them in stock now (all three versions actually). The Palace has been re-stocked with a classical 'David' ballpoint deskpen, a 'School boy' desktop valet, an Art Deco pen/card holder and 'Sword' pens (which in effect lays to rest the age-old conundrum of which is mightier). Additionally, the Gargoyle Pen Chalice has once again returned. It's difficult to capture the variegated beauty of the special, limited resin used in its construction. Obtained in only a small quantity, this Italian resin quickly had the folks at Monteverde referring to the pen as the 'Sedona', reflecting upon the great natural beauty of the rocks in that portion of Arizona. There was only enough material to create fewer than 300 of these gems...so I don't expect them to last long. It was originally named the WE, but due to the good fortune associated with the peppercorn hidden in its clip, it's been renamed the Lucky. What's not up for dispute is that the latest version of the pen -- using Delta's famous 'Dolcevita' orange resin -- is a definite winner. All three come in a larger, 2 oz. bottle. The Invincia has always been anoversized pen -- with an undersized nib. Monteverde has listened to its customers and
has retro-fitted the model with a new section, feed and the new large nib first exhibited by the MegaM3 http://www.hisnibs.com/mega_m3.htm combo pen. The pen now measures a full 6" with its cap posted, and the overall look of the pen is now much more in balance.
