Jeremy, John, Duc, Cyrus
Thanks for the help. Many reboots later, I now have the new netmask set
properly for le1 (without running a startup script) on a 51A and 51B.
The problem was that I used the full IP address of le1 followed by the
netmask, and it should have been xxx.xxx.0.0 like Cyrus and Duc indicated.
For example if your le1 IP address is 10.40.150.1 and your netmask is
255.255.0.0, the netmask file should have the following (after the
comments).
Note that tabs or spaces before the 10.40.0.0 make no difference, and you
can use a tab OR a space between the network address and netmask.
10.40.0.0 255.255.0.0
Another problem that I encountered, is that I commented out the old
defaultrouter IP address (with a #), and inserted the new IP address above
the old IP address.
I found that this does not work. Comments are not allowed in the
defaultrouter file, this file must contain only the IP address of the
router.
-Regards, Brian Bates.
