Re: [foxboro] windows I/A programming

I care.

It intimidates me, which maybe justified when Ted wrote
"I did not install a compiler on IA because I felt this could cause a
problem due to all the dll's that get updated." Maybe with some
training or knowledge this despair will turn into enlightenment.

I'm also a bit worried how windows will handle my attempts at
programming, compared to solaris which is quite forgiving for me. If
the professional programmers at Foxboro can make that Microsoft Visual
C++ error window pop up, I had to think what I could achieve. But with
some of the libraries and headers not even there e.g. IPC.h it makes it
quite hard to port some of my applications. One of the lads here asked
the question would all our C applications that run quite happily on an
AW with an AIM* historian, connoisseur, Foxviews, still run quite
happily under windows. Solaris multitasks quite well, but will windows
cope?
