Re: [foxboro] /var partition full on AW51B running ver 4.3

Dear Kashif,
There is an HH related to this problem. You can try the instruction as
mentioned in the HH below.

HH#: HH739 IA INFO: sjp9503.a
                         File: 50 Series OS
Release: ALL Date: Feb. 12,
1997Subject: Out of file space in /var partition Source: TACMany times we are
out of space in the /var partition, you check theusual places, mail, core
dumps, wastebasket files, crash files, messagelogs, etc..Look in /var/adm
there are two files wtmpx and utmpx. These files holdthe user and accounting
information for the who, write and login commandsfor that station. The
following commands can be executed to shrink thefile back to 0 size. You must
be a super user for the commands to work. Please note: When executing this
command be sure no other users are logged into the system.
       cd /var/adm cp /dev/null utmp cp /dev/null
wtmp cp /dev/null wtmpx cp /dev/null utmpx An
additional command that can be used is: > wtmpxCheck the size now
and it should be 0.
