Duc,
I am curious as to what your work around was in step 3.
I will be needing to do a similar upgrade soon and there are large
portions of our process that will not tolerate an
initialize/reboot/loadall.
I have been working with the local Foxboro Service guys to find ways
around this, so would be very interested to know what other sites have
done and their level of success.

Ken,
You said the new AW will become the host, which I assume meaning the
host
for the existing CPs also? If that's the case, you'll have to make plans
to:
1. perform SaveAll for the existing CPs
2. re-install the existing AW so it knows that it no longer hosts those
CPs.
3. initialize/reboot/LoadAll these CPs so their config files are on the
new
AW (of course, there's workaround so you don't have to do this step, but
it's not the Foxboro-recommended way -- you're on your own then)
Do you have a historian running on the existing AW? Do you plan to move
it
to the new AW? (It's not necessary, but something to consider.)
At the very least, make sure that the new AW is the CSA server, as it
runs
the later version of software.
Just a few thoughts off the top of my head. Hope it helps and not
muddles
the water.

Hi folks,
We have a small installation with 1 AW 2WP (all B boxes running ver 6.3,
foxview 99.2) and 8 CP's. (30,40B & 60 mix)
We are planning on adding an additional AW and an additional CP60 later
this year. The Foxboro rep. said the new
AW will come with ver 7.0. Am I going to experience any compatibility
issues?
The new AW will become the host and the old one will just run I/A batch
ver
5.3.
thanks,
Ken Moore
