Re: [foxboro] oma "y"

Sorry Alex,
The only thing I can make of the Dutch 'y' is an 'egg' (-:

Nico Hemkes of our operation in the Netherlands wrote oma. Perhaps, y means
something reasonable in Dutch? or maybe he ran out of letters?

That is helpful. Thanks Doug! But Why "y"?? Why ask: Why "y"? Because I
am a "why" kind of "guy" and there seems to be no logic to using "y" as
opposed to "e" for "ERROR". Maybe it is because they used up a-x for more
important functions in oma. We may never know unless the original developer
of "oma" comes out of the woodwork to tell us. How about it Foxboro guys!

List,

A helpful hint for those who don't already know ...

Many of the OM error codes and HLBL system/operation run time errors are
documented in the old "oma" utility. The oma utility is generally located
in /opt/fox/bin/tools. From the oma COMMAND: prompt, type "y ERRORNUMBER"
to get text describing the error.
