Re: [foxboro] (no subject)

DCM10E converts a 10Mbps ethernet fieldbus to a 268.75 Kbps HDLC fieldbus.
DCM10Ef is the Fiber Optic counterpart .

I think the minimum Software requirement to support a CP60 is 6.2.1 and that
should support a DCM10E as well.
The DCM requires a letterbug and it should have a configured ECB in ICC . This
is represented as a FCM in SMDH . It needs a power source ,which could be
external or it could source the power from a I/A series mounting structure .
Ethernet interface uses standard 10Base2 connections.

Depending on the kind of I/O's, you may require necessary IOM files
for EEPROM update your modules . I think if you have Cluster I/O's or Spectrum
I/O's, you may need I/A ver 6.3.2 or 6.5 before connecting them to CP60 through
DCM10E.

in order to understand better.....
i found on foxdoc for 6.4 (B0400FB-C) the DCM10E converter - P0926DJ

so it would be better to use more of these DCM ?
I've classic FBM, Coriolis & HIU ....
At the moment of the migration the value of fieldbus scan on CP station
display, was near 80 but i checked that half of the value came from HIU
(Putting them off-line the value become circa 40).

Other questions on DCM
Have i to use a minimun I/A release or my 6.2 is sufficient ??
Does DCM must be configured via Sys Def ??
If i use as you suggest, a splitted solution, which cable i must use for
DMCs connection ( a Foxboro p/n or also a commercial way) ??

Thanks much all for your help
