Re: [foxboro] modifying alarm displays on 51-series

on our AW51Es we have used the DispAlarmCfg tool to set the priority on the
clear button to the engineering priority. This way, the operators don't use
it, but on occasions like after an outage, we can go to the engineering
environment and clear alarms. It has worked pretty well for us. The only
issue we have is that the when a WP is booted, it must be forced into the
operations environment. I must have something messed up in the start-up
environment of the alarm manager.

we changed the action to these buttons, so it ack before clear...but they
still use clear....i'm not strong enough...

search at file called

/usr/fox/wp/data/wp51_glbls.all

BUT...someone told me is risky to edit the file directly....is it true ?

Asunto: [foxboro] modifying alarm displays on 51-series

I'd like to remove or disable the Clear Alarm buttons on my 20-series &
51-series alarm displays, because my operators don't seem to want to listen
to me when I tell them DON'T CLEAR ALARMS. ... grumble, grumble

Anyway, I've wasted most of the morning searching through all my manuals
and FoxDoc CDs, but I can't find any reference to the actual display files
used for the various alarm displays - CAD, AHD, etc. I know they're there,
because I saw it once. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
