Re: [foxboro] how to convert script to a service on AW70

You can use the /etc/fox/user_apps.dat file to startup your applications.

It is a well documented method to use on the unix machines and since 6.4 it
also
works on the NT machines.

On 6.3 and older NT machines you can add an entry 'lims' to
/usr/fox/bin/fox_apps.dat and name your script
/usr/fox/bin/go_lims.ksh. Then it should be automatically started at bootup.

But be careful: the /usr/fox/bin/fox_apps.dat file can be overwritten by a
software install without warning.
System Definition does not expect any user modifications to this file.

Subject: [foxboro] how to convert script to a service on AW70

Hi All,
I have prepared a script (lims.sh) that includes a closed loop ( with lots
of sleep , of course), to fetch LAB results. I need to start this process on
the startup of the AW70, and leave it to run.
how can I make it service, so it sticks.
or should I start it from autoexec.bat??

pls advise.

Best Regards,

Maurice Moshe
