It sounds like what you need is some general Unix command information. I find the book, "Unix in a Nutshell", published by O'reilly very useful for basic information on most Unix commands. You can order over the internet directly from O'reilly an www.oreilly.com or from www.amazon.com. There are, of course, many other good books, and there is also much information freely available on the web. Roger B.
