Re: [foxboro] foxboro Digest V9 #177

Terry,

If I understand your question, to take full advantage of this feature you
have to enable your OAJs (which picks up all FOXSELECT, Graphic/Faceplate,
etc. changes) at each AW/WP; configured to dump the data to the local
Historian and to start up on reboot (I forget the name/location of the file
that does this). Foxray simply collects these OAJ files periodically; no
need to UPLOAD. As Dirk mentions, this data is collected by the Foxray
server (a Windows box) periodically (all times are configurable). Loading
has never been an issue as the recommendations are to use the 2nd Ethernet
port and most files the Foxray server collects are simple text files.

Dirk,

"I mostly use it to track operator changes, (also FOXSELECT changes),"

Does this mean you regularly perform the UPLOAD function on your CP's?
What frequency? Or do you use a change tracking function that gets
advised on all operator changes and therefore does not look for changes
in the configuration database.

Most sites that I communicate with have 45 - 60 CP's that take an
average of 1 hour to complete the UPLOAD. They are reluctant to perform
an automated UPLOAD so they do them manually about once a month.
