Re: [foxboro] flowrate

We're trying to establish a flake (flow rate at which a reactor is
emptied) rate. All we have to go on is the weight of the reactor (ain)
and a timer and/or station time. The ind blocks we're using now are
working, but they only give a very rough indication. Our process does
not really allow installation of flow measurements. I was woundering if
anyone had figured out a more accurate way of establishing accurate flow
rates without using flow measurement

Our calculations look somewhat like this:
Collect begin weight, start timer 60sec's, wait until timer elapses,
collect endweight, subtract endweight from beginweight, multiply by 60,
this gives us a new average flake rate per hour, refreshed every minute,
it's OK for the larger volumes, but not accurate enough for the small
volumes.

I'm not sure I understand.  Could you clarify a bit?

You do not have flow measurements, but you are using AIN blocks and
averaging values every five minutes.  What values are coming in through
your AIN blocks?

Are you trying to get a running five-minute average flow rate?
