Re: [foxboro] dmcmd horn

Alex,

Thanks for this clear answer.
Customer Modification Request ?
We have already installed external speakers to the annuniator keyboard. Part
of our problem is that one particular operator seems to have something like
a -100 dB dip exactly at tone 2 (as specified in horn.cfg). Boosting this
with external speakers only upsets his colleagues.

I will have to intensify my search for an external (multi purpose, fully
programmable, redundant, etc.) horn/buzzer.
Again, any practical suggestions are highly appreciated!

I liked the quadrupled redundancy of the existing situation (4
WP51/annuniator keyboards per operator work bay).

Thanks again,

Pat Martens,

There is no way to change the frequency.

You can add external speakers to the Annunciator Keyboard to boost the
sound.

Subject: [foxboro] dmcmd horn

Hi,
With the horn display manager command I am able to select 16 individual
frequencies (audible through the GCIO and annun keyboard).
In the horn.cfg I can only select 3 different frequencies.

My question:
Is there a way to 'map' the 3 tones from the horn.cfg to any of the other
tones, or even better, select an absolute frequency?

We have a control room with 4 operator 'work bay's'.
The 3 available tones are simply not enough.

We could go for the external contact option and connect some external horn
but with 16 different tones (as available with the dmcmd horn command) we
would have enough.

If an external horn would be the only option then make/type/supplier for any
'field proven' horn/buzzer would be highly appreciated.

TIA
