Re: [foxboro] default sequencecode editor and remote editing

In V6.x systems, the file /opt/fox/ciocfg/seqedit is the script that is run
when the 'Edit sequence code' is picked. You can edit it to run the editor
that you wish.

In V7.x systems, the file is /opt/fox/ciocfg/remote_edit. I suspect that if
you work with it you can do what you want though I never have. Be sure to
make a backup. :)

I'd be tempted to add the following after the first line:

exec >/opt/fox/ciocfg/remote_edit.log 2>&1
set -x

and review the log file that is created during your testing to see why
textedit doesn't come up remotely. If you are using an X-Terminal PC, it
should be possible to make it work.

Subject: [foxboro] default sequencecode editor and remote editing

Hi,

Foxboro changed the default sequencecode editor from vi to textedit in
Version V6.?.?.

I've the problem that I'm now not able to open the editor remote on a
windows machine. It results in a "interface error 109" message.

I know other ways to write my code but I would like to get it running
for other users who use the ICC and click on "Edit sequence code".

Andreas
