Re: [foxboro] cpoint not reporting CP Checkpoints for some CP's to SysMon

Do you have alarms inhibited on those CPs? That will do it.

If you checkpoint by hand from the System Monitor do you get the same behavior?

Subject: [foxboro] cpoint not reporting CP Checkpoints for some CP's to SysMon

At one of our sites, we set up a script file that runs every day to
checkpoint each CP. We have a Windows-only system running version 8.2
and version 8.4.2. We use the program cpoint.exe, found in
/opt/fox/bin/tools. There are four CP hosts in this system, and the
script has entries for every CP on each host. The script works well,
and if you go to each hosts /usr/fox/sp/files directory, you see an
updated checkpoint file for each CP in the system.

The problem is, some of the CP's do not report the "Checkpoint
Successful" message to the System Monitor, while other CP's do. The
CP's that don't report were all originally hosted by the same host, but
we had to move 5 of the CP's to another host because we needed to use
some of the features of version 8.4.2 for those 5 CP's, so we upgraded
the one host to v.8.4.2 and left the original host at v.8.2.

On System Definition, we left the CP's that we moved to be reporting to
their original System Monitor, even though they now have a new host.
However, even the CP's that we didn't move also do not report a
"Checkpoint Successful". It looks like every CP on that System Monitor
doesn't report the "Checkpoint Successful", regardless of which
workstation they are being hosted by.

We were not running the cpoint.exe script prior to the CP move, so I
have no data on whether or not moving the CP's had any effect on this.

The System Monitor that isn't sending out the "Checkpoint Successful"
messages appears to be working. If you reboot a workstation that is
monitored by this System Monitor, for example, you get the usual
messages that you would expect.

Has anybody seen behavior like this, where one System Monitor will not
send out messages that other ones do?
