Johan,
You could consider the new FBM224 supported at V6.5.1./7.1 that provides =
Modbus connectivity. It is still only offers a serial =
(RS232/RS422/RS485) interface, but 4 connections are supported from a =
single FBM. Use of a dedicated master (I/A) to slave (PLC) serial link =
should support an adequate data transfer rate.

Subject: [foxboro] connecting Foxboro I/A with Simatic S7
Dear Users,
As many customers whe are upgrading our Simatic S5 PLC's to the newer S7
ones.
Our communication with S5 and the I/A system is based on the Modbus
communication,
and we are now searching for some other solutions to connect with the S7
PLC's.
Has someone experience with:
AW70/OPC IO Gate and Simatic/OPC server
AW70 and Simatic H1/Interface
the new CP60 and profibus FBM (or other FBM's)
What is the reliability of these communications
Thanks,
Johan Van Elsen
