Re: [foxboro] configuring AIM* to get data from external fdb data base file

Hi Daniele,
This may be quite an important detail: The FAT32 partitions do not support
extended attributes. I do not know if internally AIM*Historian is using
extended attributes, but if it does, your FAT32 partition cannot handle
these. It may well be that the error message you see in the log is actually
caused by an inability to change extended attributes on an existing file
located on the remote FAT32 partition.

Unfortunately I do not have any personal experience with AIM and FAT32. I
would suggest you find yourself a test system with NTFS, move some files
from the W2K/FAT32 computer to a shared folder on the NTFS system and then
repeat the test.

Hi Alex,
I have forgotten to tell you, the W2K pc has both partitions (OS and DATA)
in FAT32 mode.
Could be that the problem? By sharing a partition which is FAT32 everyone is
able to access/modify the data and in fact from the AW70 PC I can access and
modify the data stored in the hist01 folder.
But I am still getting the same access error.

Thank you

Daniele
