Thanks.
I could convert the Save-all files created by automated save-all.sh script
to FoxCAE , transfer them
across the Windows Network and burn them on to CD .
Well, I thought I am almost done with eliminating the 1.44MB Floppy
Diskettes completely .
There was yet another bottleneck.
Loading-all the files back to a CP occurs only in case of a disaster
recovery . Is there a way to copy only
one Compound from the Save-all files ?
Formatting used by ICC is somewhat different and the menu items like SHOW
DISKETTE DIRECTORY
or COPY FROM DISKETTE works only with diskettes created by ICC .

The mk_foxcae and mk_loadall tools expect the directories with the
foxcae/saveall files on the hard-drive to be in ../foxcae_xfr/FoxCae and
../foxcae_xfr/LoadAll
These directories are not created during the install, you have to make them
yourself.
Example:
You copy the foxcae-exportfiles (cmp0001, cmp0002, etc) from station CP0001
to /opt/fox/ciocfg/foxcae_xfr/FoxCae/CP0001. (or any other subdirectory
name)
The mk_loadall tool will create the parameters-file (etc) for each compound
in /opt/fox/ciocfg/foxcae_xfr/LoadAll/CP0001/<COMPOUND>.
You can now load this into the cp using
"load_all CP0001 /opt/fox/ciocfg/foxcae_xfr/LoadAll/CP0001"
It works the same way if you want to convert from a save-all to a foxcae
format. Put your saveall-directory containing the compounds in ../LoadAll
and mk_foxcae will create the foxcae files in a subdirectory of ../FoxCae.
You might want to remove other (previous) subdirectories in ../LoadALL and
../FoxCae, since the tools will process ALL directories(stations)in those
directories.

Thanks Richard.
We would like to keep the traditional method of FoxCAE transfer by
converting the Save-All's to FoxCAE transfer
diskettes . We do this only for back documentation rather than forward
engineering.
The "mk_foxcae " script lists options to convert a Load-All diskette or
to use existing Save-All files on the Hard Disk.
I could not make this work with the Save-All files generated by the
save_all.sh script.
Could anyone help me with this issue ?

Gopan,
Concerning the on-line use of FoxCAE via FoxAPI, we have been doing
on-line uploads and downloads for some
time, using FoxCAE 4.0, 4.2 and 5.0. It works well, for the most part, and
we continue to use it. But we
have had to be careful because of some problems with the uploads scramble
the block order in FoxCAE and the
downloads altering the block order in the CP.
