Stan Check out this fix. http://www.freelists.org/archives/foxboro/07-2004/msg00162.html -Brian stan <stanb@xxxxxxxxx> To: Foxboro List <foxboro@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent by: cc: foxboro-bounce@fr Subject: [foxboro] autologoff on Solaris 8 machines. eelists.org 08/23/2005 06:06 AM Please respond to foxboro I'm trying to set up the sutologoff package for remote users on a new node. This node is version 7.11, which of course means Solaris 8. Our remote users log in as non root users. I'm having a problem that I think I remeber being able too solve on older systems fairly simply. The problem is, since the non root users don't have permission to (sucesfully) run pref commands, the auologoff fails to either warn, or log off the user. I recall being able to set the ste user ID (SUID) bit on the autologoff executable on older Solaris 2.5 systems, and have the shell scripts called with the enhanced permissions, At least that's my recolection. This does work on Solaris 8 systems. Ehe shell scripts still get called with as the non root user. Is my memory about Solaris 2.5 correct? Is there a way to make this work on Soalris 8 based systems? I'm considering using sudo to acomplish this, if there is not a simpler way. -- U.S. Encouraged by Vietnam Vote - Officials Cite 83% Turnout Despite Vietcong Terror - New York Times 9/3/1967 _______________________________________________________________________ This mailing list is neither sponsored nor endorsed by Invensys Process Systems (formerly The Foxboro Company).
