You can configure the bootup environment in /usr/fox/customer/hi/dmcfg and
edit /usr/fox/sys to eliminate the Change_Env option

Subject: [foxboro] X-window login environments
This should be an easy question for the many knowledgable X-windows users on
this list.
We have an ancient system - AW51B, v4.3 - and are just starting up our first
X-windows station (to replace a PW-OE). I have it up and running on a PC
with Windows 98 and Exceed. Now I need to set up security.
The host AW51B serves as the operator station in one process area and the
X-station is the operator console in another area. I would like the
operators in area A to only be able to see graphics in area A, and B
operators only see area B graphics. I have created separate environments for
the two areas, but I don't want to use passwords to prevent access to the
environments (because we could never keep the passwords secure). Is there a
way to have the X-station boot up automatically into an environment which
the host AW is not able to change to? Or do I need to use the same
environment for both areas and disable the graphics that are not needed?
Ideally, I would like to have the PC power up directly into an Exceed
session logged into the area B environment with no way for the operator to
back out to Windows. Eventually, we will have 2 more of these X-stations as
we replace our other PW-OEs.
