Alex,
1) Probably a 5. We use Exceed DM's on a number of Engineering, Maintenance,
Technical, and Supervisory office PC's, where they do all the normal office PC
applications as well, but these are not for control. At each node, we have an
AW51 and a WP51, usually dual-head, with X-terminals for additional operator
seats. If we couldn't use X-terminals, we would use PC's with Exceed for the
extra seats, due to the lower cost than more WP's. We also use VNC for home
access to a DM.
2) Using Exceed on PC's is efficient (also office applications) and lower cost
than WP's.
3) X-terminals should be offered (like they used to be). Low cost, easy to
maintain, and no harddrive. Lenux is also a very good idea.
